Agencies/Websites for Disability Related Issues

   Americans With Disabilities Act


Provides information about the ADA including design standards, information line, technical assistance, and enforcement.

 

   Caregiver Resource Centers


Funded by Area Agencies on Aging and Department of Mental Health in designated states only. Each state's Agency on Aging could serve as a resource for individuals with brain injury, and spinal cord injury over the age of 60 and would also be a good resource for locating any other agencies in that particular state that deal with brain injured individuals between the ages of 18-59. Agencies on Aging programs offer services that help older adults remain in the least restrictive environment by providing services such as meals-on-wheels, transportation, homemaker assistance, and information and referral.
